Tomb Raider I,II,III |
Publisher: Eidos Rating: 9/10. Game Life: What makes this game for me is the historical research, beautiful textures and puzzle solving. I'm not keen on the precision controller work as I'm a bit unco and have thrown the controller across the room on more than one occasion. These are beautiful games and are already classics. Girls want to be her, and guys want to date her, something for everyone! Platinum: TR 1-2 |

Final Fantasy VII |
Publisher: Squaresoft Rating: 8/10 Game Life: 9/10. What more can be said about this one? Great length of gameplay because it's just so HUGE. Heaps of variety, lots of people to meet and monsters to vanquish although I still can't understand why the 'Weapons' are harder to defeat than a green-eyed boy: Sephiroth. (Nice Qabbalistic reference there for you to chase. )My favourite characters are Vincent and Cid. Just love the Japanese design. Thanks to Darren for helping me find all the materia! Platinum: Yes |

Tenchu |
A beautiful game, makes a change from the daggy old 1st person shoot em ups. I love the strategy in this one, you actually have to THINK.Top music, and truly lovely effects - the snow is my favourite bit- and great Japanese flavour. Can't wait for the next installment. This is a truly magnificent game. Thanks to David for lending me his memory card! Platinum: No |

Spyro |
Publisher: Universal/Insomniac Rating: 7/10 Game Life: 5/10. Good clean fun. A cute little game that even cynical old players like myself can get a kick out of. Fans of Spyro might recognise the voice of Rocko from Nikelodeon's "Rocko's modern life" as the feisty little dragon. Platinum: No |

Medieval |
Publisher: Rating: 8.5/10 Game Life: 4/10Ah, the lovely Paul Darrow (Better known as Avon from BBC's Blake's 7) obviously had fun camping up the voice of the dastardly evil sorcerer, Zarok. A top game, screen relative movement a bit awkward in places, (the pirate ship would make the most virtuous person swear), great music and humorous settings. A real classic. Platinum: Yes |

MUSIC |
Publisher: Rating: 9/10 Game Life: Forever. This isn't a game but a music composition program and I couldn't survive without it. If you wanna make neat techno without having a zillion dollars to set up a studio, then get this. Codemasters allow you to even sell your compositions as long as you put their logo on your stuff. Small price to pay. What a great way for young composers to get started. Platinum: No |

Magic: The Gathering: Battlemage. |
Publisher: Acclaim/Wizards of the Coast Rating: 8/10 Game Life: 9/10. This game is based on the card game. If you're like me (LAZY) and hate working out who is doing what to whom, computer versions of popular games is the way to go. This one is like Magical chess. Groovy spell effects, average graphics made up for by a big world to conquer, music quite good but if you play a lot, it can get a bit annoying. Long game life because it takes so long to defeat your enemies. Good duel feature to squash your friends. Platinum: No |

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver |
Publisher: Eidos/Crystal Dynamics Rating: 9.5/10 Game Life: 8/10. These people really know how to make a top game. First impression? Like a cross between Medieval and Spyro! (Dead guy with no jaw, purple skin and wings that are hopelessly inadequate!) Advanced AI, huge world, sumptuous backgrounds, cool SFX and music. Just the right level of difficulty for an old person like me. Anything to do with vampires is a hit with me but I love the story-line, and the once spunky Raziel (nice armour he's almost wearing) enough to want him redeemed and if any blood-sucking weirdly mutated scum get in my way... Platinum: No |

Dead or Alive |
I suppose the "boob bounce" is a purple attempt to appeal to PSX's 14year old male audience. And let's face it most men never mature beyond that age. Other than that, NEAT. Favourite character: Lei Fang. It's very satisfying to beat the crap out of WWW big boyz and Bruce Lee wannabes! Cool music. Platinum: No |

Syphon Filter. |
Publisher: 989 studios/Eidetic Rating: 8.5/10. This is a cool game, I've just started this one. I like the interface and the groovy smooth game play - reminds me of a cross between Tenchu and Metal Gear Solid - but why oh why can we not save where we want to?? I gave up on this one - I don't like helicopters! Sorry guys, but flirting with Raziel (see above) has become too tempting. I'll finish this one later. Platinum: No |
